About the studio

Camera Exposure is a used camera shop on Adams Avenue and Safelight Labs is its film lab, run by co-founders Rob Cowan and Caitie Boreliz, who started Safelight in 2017 and bought Camera Exposure in 2020. The DIY Lab is a self-service community darkroom with three film development stations, three black-and-white enlargers and an 8x10 enlarger, booked by members at least two hours ahead. Members also get access to the Safelight Labs photo studio, and newcomers are pointed to the lab's workshops.
