About the studio
The Fairbanks Weavers & Spinners Guild is a nonprofit educational organization, founded by 11 weavers in 1952, that connects fiber artists across Interior Alaska and meets at Davis Hall on the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds. It hosts an open studio almost every Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM where people bring projects to work on, plus weaving and spinning workshops, lectures and demonstrations. Its beginner weaving course, run as a UAF community course, teaches weaving on multi-shaft looms that come pre-warped.
