About the studio
Spanish Village Art Center is an independent nonprofit community of working artists in Balboa Park, with artists in the 1935 exposition cottages since 1937. Roughly three dozen studios and galleries house painters, ceramicists and other fine artists and craftspeople who work in view of visitors, give demonstrations and hold classes. A sister organization, the Spanish Village Art Center Foundation, runs educational programs for artists.
